David Duffy first came to radio in May 1981 as a freelance presenter/producer with Essex Radio. He worked on the Arts programme and went on to produce a weekly two hour live panel phone-in show. David also worked on the weekend breakfast show as a co-presenter.
In addition to radio, David's career has included over 15 years working in a variety of senior sales and marketing roles for global technology companies. He returned to radio in 1991 as a Non-Executive Director of Wire FM in Warrington, Cheshire. After the successful sale of the company to Wireless Group plc in 1999 David went on run and, subsequently sell, a further two commercial radio stations. In 2013 he teamed up with John Evington to establish the media consultancy The Radio People. David is founder and co-owner of the DAB+ multiplex operating company Niocast, DAB solutions provider Viamux, and Ireland's DAB operator éirdab.
John Evington has been a senior figure in the radio industry for over 25 years, John's background was in music and presentation for local commercial radio and, later, at national level with the BBC. After a four year tenure as Group Programme Director for Wireless Group he became Managing Director of a regional station on the south coast before taking on troubleshooter roles following the economic downturn of 2008. In challenging circumstances he achieved audience growth and increased profitability, bucking the national trend.
John now specialises in content creation and delivery, recently designing a range of new formats for DAB and online clients. He sees the development of small-scale DAB as a catalyst for creative innovation and works with service providers via The Radio People's sister companies Niocast, and Viamux.
